Drainage and water searches

Following the introduction of the Housing Act in 2007, The Drainage and Water Search will be a 'required' search within the Home Information Pack (HIP).

Under Schedule 8 of the revised Home Information Pack regulations 2007, which covers Drainage and Water Enquiries, the water companies of England and Wales are required to provide some additional information. This information had been requested by various industry and consumer bodies, and is now part of both the Residential CON29DW and the Commercial Drainage and Water Search (CDWS).
